Has anyone been cured from schizophrenia and is off medication or knows someone who has? For how long are you or they off of them?

Studies have indicated that 25% of those having schizophrenia recover completely, 50% are improved over a 10-year period, and 25% do not improve over time.

I have been diagnosed with schizophrenia But now I have gotten better and I don’t take medication. Does that put me in th 25% that recovered.
I guess 
Edit: I was off meds for 2 years and then ended up psychotic in hospital. So only time will tell.

Yes, paranoid schizophrenia.

I was diagnosed about 7 years ago approx.

Also in the US there is a tendency to misdiagnosis people with psychotic disorders (bipolar, brief psychotic disorder) with schizophrenia.
So you think i was misdiagnosed
By no means, but there are many people who received a diagnosis of schizophrenia during a psychotic episode, never took their medications and continued to work and to have a normal life.
Do you think four years with the diagnosis is a long time. I was diagnosed four years ago. Now Im off the medications completely.
Indeed, especially if the negative symptoms were present.
