What does catatonia feel like? Are you aware that it’s happening when it happens?

Catatonic it happens when you don’t treat your disease for 10 or 20 years and you have many many relapse like 20 hard relapse

You’re just gave me an answer to a qwestion that bothered me
I have been sick for 13 years and two months ago I had a catatonic attack that lasted 8 hours, now that you say it, it makes sense, most of the years I am without medication, and my first delusion lasted six years together with paranoia of persecution and hallucinations
The last two brakedouns were completely radical motor disruption

From the little attack I had, I was aware of everything, I heard and saw everything, but the body or raged like a broken robot or froze like a statue, it’s very scary

@ola you stayed off meds long time?

That’s why we need to take our meds and i’m not joking this time

Of the 12 years of illness, I took medication for only three years. At the hospital they gave me doses of an elephant, and that killed me completely mentally, and I can not push this mads into myself any more

I cant :frowning:
After their doping I cant take any more drugs
they kill my brain

Love the black and white tities background

ha ha thenks dud

you are headed for disaster if you’ve stopped your meds…please talk with your pdoc and see if they can adjust your meds the way you want them? please don’t stop taking your meds !!

Can you explain to me why it’s so important? With all the madness I still manage to function and study in college, why will a disaster happen?

how long have you been off meds…you might still be in the phase where your meds haven’t worn off yet…if you have been off meds a long time and can still function I am puzzled…

My first diagnoses catatonic schizophrenia.

Some people can do it.

I can’t.

Probably many of the people who are high functioning off meds would be even higher functioning on the right med and dose.

@ola I think if you’re high functioning, meds would mostly be useful to take away distressing symptoms, such as the hallucinations, so you could have better social relationships. There is also some evidence that being psychotic long term damages the brain.

The brain damage is the most worrisome. Luckily I do not have a cognitive decline at all. In fact, I feel that I am getting smarter over the years. I am very lucky. My illness is chronic and severe
And most of the time I have positive symptoms, but I nange to founction.
I hope for the best

There are a few new meds in development that aren’t strong D2 blockers. Maybe in a few years there will be one that you find doesn’t bother you.
