Reading on the kindle app on phone vs reading on a kindle ereader

I have a pixel 9 that I use the kindle app on. It comes with a feature that reads the book aloud to you.

I may sell my kindle e reader as I find myself reading on my phone more.

What do y’all use for reading?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my kindle. I find the light on my phone to be too harsh even in dark mode. I find a lot of comfort in my kindle. I love taking it to bus rides and doctors appointments where I might have to wait I the waiting room a long time. I like to put my phone away at 8pm at night and then just read on my kindle on a low light till I feel sleepy. I like the separation from my phone

You share some good strengths of the kindle. Which generation and model do you have

I had a Kindle Oasis, and once I got to a certain number of books, it was horrible to update. It would often freeze for a full day. Consequently, I wiped it and sold it. I use my phone or iPad Air now.

I have the 2024 basic one. Just the cheapest one but I love it

I have both the app and the kindle but until I read this post I forgot I even had the kindle. That’s how much I use the app. I think in the past whenever I remember it to use it, it’s always out of batteries so I keep using the app.

I have the Kindle. It does it’s job. I highly recommend it.

i use an ipad because i also read comics and manga. kindles are good in any light source tho which is a plus. really i prefer physical books but i always think itd be nice to read in the dark and thats where the ipad comes in

Im old-skool. Give me a solid physical book, and when Im done, I hand it on. I just picked up “De Imitatio” for £4 and its a 1957 edition.
