Ran a red, face is red

I was looking for an obscure shop I’d never been to, listening to someone speak, avoiding cars, and the last thing (which is the thing I failed to do) was pay attention to the traffic lights.

At least the cop wasn’t a dick about it. He even apologized.

What did he apologize for?:thinking::thinking:

That part is work related so I can’t say.

I’m not so frustrated about the ticket but I feel it’s a bad omen that I drove for years with a perfect record and the day after leaving the hospital I get a misdemeanor.

Hell, when I was 17 I got pulled over the very first time I took my first car out by myself with my first drivers license. That was 1978. The funny thing was that it was a woman cop. Nowadays a female cop is no big deal but back then it was a little unusual. I had run a stop sign in my own neighborhood 5 minutes from my house. She let me go with a warning.

I could see the guy talking to his partner on duty and it looked like they were considering letting it go, but he came up and said it was too blatant of a red light violation to be dismissed. I told him I knew that and wasn’t going to pull anything on him by talking my way out of it. Overall it was a friendly encounter.
