Hello I’m new here! Diagnosed sz last year & have been dealing with voices every second of the day ever since. I was on 2mg risperidone & 25mg quetiapine & still am dealing with auditory hallucinations. My new practitioner doesn’t believe in prescribing two AP’s at the same time & is having me solely on quetiapine. I’m now taking 75mg. My question is has anyone had success with quietiapine treating their positive symptoms? I’ve heard much more success with risperidone but she doesn’t like to prescribe it.
Welcome to the forum!
You usually need doses of 200-300 mg or higher for psychosis.
That’s a low dose that only helps you sleep. Much higher doses are needed for psychosis and voices as @Mars has said.
I’ve been trying to get on higher doses based on research & seeing what works. Each time I’m placed on very low doses. Idk why. Would like to try 200mg.
That’s what I thought. I’m not sure if they’re starting me out low to work my up to a therapeutic dose but each ap has been too low for me. I’ve been trying to find a practitioner to prescribe me higher doses & am unsuccessful.
Thank you happy to be here. It’s nice to have support.

Seroquel treats a broad range of conditions at various doses. Some of the conditions. I mention is it not.FDA approved for.
sleep aid 25-100 mg
anxiousness 50-200 mg
depression - 300 mg
mania - 600 mg
Schizophrenia 450 - 800 mg
I’m on the maxdose for schizophtenia + Clopixol Lai
with these two meds I’ve got no.voiced or other disturbances.
Some people can get relief on small doses, even for sz, but if you still have symptoms you should tell your doctor that 75mg quetiapine doesen’t do the job. Surely they will be compelled to act.
