prescribed seroquel 50mg or whatever the smallest dose is, sometimes i take 3 or 4 a night and some times i just dont take it for a while. is it really for schizophrenia symptoms google isnt clear enough for me
I’ve never been on it personally, but yes, this is one of the myriad of drugs bandied about in relation to treatment of schizophrenia, I believe. There was also a diagnosed schizophrenic in a group facility I was in who was taking it, so I feel pretty confident saying, yes.
I’ve heard its one of those helpful for putting you to sleep , as well.
definetly puts me to sleep in under 30 mins, but waking up is absolutely hellish which is why sometimes i ignore it
Yup it’s for schiz.
25-100 mg sleep only.
100-200 mg anxiety.
100-300 mg major depression.
300-600 mg manio depression
300-800 Schizophrenia.
as you can see it is dose dependant to which illness it treats.
I’m on 800 mgs Seroquel for treatment resistant Schizophrenia and besides of those I’m on the very good long acting depo Clopixol.
I’d say they really quells my anger very well and gives me a good rest.
I was on Seroquel in very high doses for about a year.
Took a long time to recover when I stopped taking.
Made me gain about 70lbs.
I was able to lose it,
But had brain zaps and weirdness during withdrawal.
I think I may not be the same in some ways,
Like ever again.
It was a super bad medication for me.
But I know several people here that have had much success with it.
I guess that it was pure luck that I found Seroquel because that’s the only atypical antipsychotics that really made living easier for me.
There is just as many drug responses as There are people on the surface of the earth
I’m on a lose dose for sza and it helps enough that positives don’t completely over take me. Yes it’s hard to wake up but I find it worth it
I’m on a low dose because we’ve cut my dose in half over the past few months. I hope to get off of it altogether. I’ve gained 60 lbs as of now.
What was your highest dose? I’m on 200 mg of the Xr and I’ve gained 10 lbs so far
- I started Abilify around that time, so we paused on increasing the Seroquel. Abilify has been great, but we’re now reducing Seroquel because I’m very chonky now.
Oh- I’ve been on it for about a year.
