What medication helped you and at what mg? Has risperidone been effective for those who’ve taken it?
I haven’t heard voices in awhile.
Everyone reacts to meds differently. What works for me might not for you.

It took mine serval months before they stopped. Apparently the dopamine blocker has to build up in your system.

I’m on month 2 of medication. I’m a lot better than I was before meds. Hopefully not too much longer before it kicks in.

What meds and dose are you on? I seem to remember that you were on a sub therapeutic dose of your meds but I could be wrong.
You are correct. I was on 75mg of seroquel & 2mg of risperidone. The seroquel was making my thumb shake & lock up so I went back down & havent had it since.

I am on risperadone. I am currently taking 3mg a day but while I was experiencing psychosis I was taking 5 or 6mg. I heard my own voice since I was six years old but it stopped about a month into taking the antipsychotic.

That’s ok. 2mg of risperidone is a therapeutic dose.
Seroquel didn’t work out for me either actually.

I still hear voices on meds but they aren’t there all the time. Without meds I hear 24/7 voices and suffer a great deal.

I don’t have any auditory hallucinations on 4mg of risperidone but off of my meds I can experience them

I rarely hear voices, im on monthly injection for aripiprazole/abilify.

Im on 3mg of rexulti and 4.75 of vraylar and i have no positive symptoms, including no voices.

It finally went away at 425mg
Today I’m down to 100mg and still ok
Slowly slowly tapering off
I really like it so far. It was added about 2 1/2 months ago. Its activating so it gave me a little more energy and helped with my lack of motivation.

Also sleep lots of clozapine, and it gives tachycardia
My pdoc told me I will be better with the negatives on Vraylar… including possible weight loss

6mg risperidone no voices but sometimes before taking my dose at night I get internal disorganized thoughts. This wasnt happening when I was splitting my dose into morning and night. It doesn’t bother me, not worth increasing the meds and worsening negative symptoms.

I don’t hear voices. I take 22 mg of olanzapine. I don’t know if I need such a high dose.
