I used to take seroquel before I switched to zyprexa than quit and my voices were worse then than they are now and I am not taking anything at all.
Seroquel was the first medicine I ever took and my pdoc had me on 50mg, than 100mg than took me off because i said I didn’t really notice a change in symptoms but I looked at the recommended dosage and it was 400-800.
I read somewhere that at the doses you talk about Seroquel works more as an antihistamine than antipsychotic so it helps you sleep but does little for the voices. Above 400 it acts more as an antipsychotic so that should help with voices.
This is really interesting. I switched off seroquel a while ago& started a different antipsychotic. The new one helps paranoia l, but voices are bad. Worse than ever, so doc added seroquel back in the mix, but only 150 mgs. I hace noticed no change h and the voices are becoming increasingly sinister. But I don’t want to feel like I’m walking through life without experiencing it, due to feeling drugged. Anyone have any suggestions?
@Reggie you are on seroquel, right? What have you experienced w85th voices, paranoia, feeling drugged?
I have 300 mg Seroquel in the evening. It helps me sleep. Has not made voices go away. Or maybe. Voices are worst in the morning. Or the night if I can’t sleep. I also have 25 mg Abilify.
I’ve been on 400 x 2 Seroquel for over a decade. I can’t tell I’m taking it. If I was paying for it myself I might have to assess its effect on me to justify the expense. Some people find it way too sedating, but not me.
