In the mid-seventies my town implemented a Dial-a-Bus system. You could call county transit and have a bus come to YOU, wherever you were and it would pick you up and take you wherever you wanted to go. It was great while it lasted but it only lasted a short time because while the bus tried to fill the buses with people who were going roughly the same destination(downtown, the mall, the park etc) it often drove around with only two or three people on it. So they dropped the program.
I took the bus from 1990-1996 when I was living in a Board & Care home. I took the bus an hour and a half to work and 45 minutes to school during the day. 5 or 6 nights a week I took the bus to an AA,CA, or NA, meeting. I considered myself an expert on taking the bus.
I don’t understand your bus system BakedBeans. In my city, I can go to ANY bus stop and catch any bus that stops there on it’s route. In fact I can do that for any bus in my whole county. I can take a city bus from my town all the way up to San Francisco which is 30 miles away. For a few dollars. Or I can catch a bus from my street to downtown which is a 5 minute trip. And get off and catch a different bus for 5 minutes to wherever it goes.
