Protein drinks

I got some protein drinks from the Dollar Tree the other day that had 140 calories and 30 mg protein. That would be body builders’ heaven. I don’t intend to suddenly start jacking iron, though. I’m going to use them for when I feel like eating a meal of junk food. I can use those drinks to get protein. They. probably won’t taste good.

I don’t like protein drink I feel its too much protein. I’m strongly against that. I really have a fear of overdoing protein. I also remember reading something about excessive protein and cancer during uni.

Plus there’s the kidneys…

Idk. It’s just what I’ve gathered.

Thou I’m no expert. I trust my intuition to give me a heads up that I’m listening to the right advice, I think

I imagine a lot would depend on your individual system. Levels of activity would matter. Protein does good things for you too. It helps regulate your blood sugar levels. It doesn’t just repair damaged muscles.

Yep enzymes are made of protein. Enzymes are needed for so many things. I can imagine it has lots of roles. I don’t know them all

You’re right, though. I think I did lasting damage when I got on a high protein, low calorie diet.

Idk. Hopefully not. Maybe it works for some people, especially in the short term. But I’ve also heard keto increases death risk or something like that and that is a high protein diet.

Anyway even if we damage ourselves there are sometimes chances to fix damage, repair etc.

I am using a plant based shake that has 16 grams of protein complimented by brown rice. The protein is mostly pea, but has a bunch of other fruits and veggies to help round out the nutrition. It has 10 grams of cane sugar, which is my preferred sweetener and it is organic and delicious. I replace a meal with it or have it with veggies or fruit. I do this once or twice a day depending on my appetite.

It sounds very healthy. Sometimes I think plant protein breaks down faster than animal protein. I don’t think I have the resources to do what you are doing, though.

Yes, but these are so high in protein that it will probably be pretty tasteless. Maybe not. I plan to try one soon.

The shakes are about $2 each. I get them on Amazon. Since they are basically a meal replacement for me it is actually a savings on my food budget. I need 60 shakes a month, and since 12 come to a case that’s 5 cases. Five cases comes out to $125. That’s really cheap and covers 2 meals per day if I am able to do that.
