There’s a lot of respectable people out there that think protein shakes are bogus. Then there’s a jacked pro bodybuilder trying to sell you a product. Do they actually take the product? Probably not.
Taking a protein drink immediately after a workout gives me peace of mind. People are trying to scare you by saying you will lose the benefits of the workout if you don’t take the protein within 30 minutes. So whatever. It may not be true. I’m covering my basis. I liked how I looked years ago when taking whey protein, so I’m doing it again.
If you want to get strong you have eat real food. I care more about appearance since I’m not an active athlete anymore. I’ve felt like I gain most strength in the past by eating a ton of meat and taking creatine. You will feel amazingly strong if you do that.
I guess the Dymatize brand of protein seems to be the “goodest” one according to my sources if you ever want to try the best brand. I think it’s a whey isolate so it absorbs faster.
I drink Sustagen. It’s a high protein milk product which is pretty good and saves me taking a mulitvitamin. They used to have a sport supplement but have stopped selling it…I do a lot more free weights and body exercising these days and thinking of some protein…
What is the minimum you can take etc. I am using the hi reps and low weights process. Yes I add weights but after weeks…I’m trying to tone rather than build out and out muscle.
Still. I am getting pretty toned and can stick to things when I’m going well…
Just a heads up, I ate 15 protein bars over 4-5 days. Salted caramel, hazelnut choc and rocky road flavours and have just almost gone into hospital with increased psychosis symptomology, Inc seeing my gp and emergency session with my therapist. Just saying, they are yum and low carbs but next time I will just have one every few days.
