Probably going to buy Circooter Raptor Pro e scooter

@shutterbug

You recommended Circooter and I’m probably going with them.

I’m a little worried about not having done anything athletic for a really long time and being heavy. It’s a powerful motor.

be careful, is all I’m saying

You won’t get tossed off by a single motor. I suggest riding with a single motor on and only toggling the front motor when you’re coming up on a hill or you want to hit top speed. Being out of shape isn’t an issue as much as you find your legs and feet will get sore for the first couple of weeks until you get used to riding. I’m really enjoying mine and it’s a fantastic way to zip around my area. Just be sure to check the legality of riding yours where you live.

@Bowens also has a sweet ride, hit him up for his pics and videos. :wink:

Hey @Nomad, if you’re only doing urban travel with your scooter, seriously consider the Circooter Mate. My wife has one and it’s pretty good. Close to the same range as the Raptor, but lighter and folds nicely for carrying inside. Not quite as fast or as good on hills, but if you live somewhere level and you’re not going offroad then the Mate will do ya. The Raptor and the Raptor Pro are more for offroad, which I use mine for as well (hiking trails).

Isn’t the off-road a good feature in a bumpy city?

St. Louis has bumps and stuff like crazy.and potholes

Off-road is more like dirt and gravel. Scooters can handle bumps, but potholes are deadly at speed when you only have 10-inch wheels. I am careful to avoid routes with potholes.

Crap. I want to get from one area of the city to another on the scooter and there are potholes everywhere in this city. Hmm…

Honestly, an eBike with larger wheels is probably a safer option. Scooters are best used on higher-quality pathways and roads.

yeah, i can show you some pics. Cant do the video thing though because my identity would be revealed through youtube

I only have used 1st and 2nd gear. Third gear scares me as it can supposedly go 46mp. Fastest Ive gone is 37mph I think.

I’ve talked to my dad about your comment. He’s ridden Lime/Bird scooters around St. Louis and found that potholes are easy to avoid. I hope he’s right.

I would suggest renting one yourself and trying it out before buying a scooter like mine. I tried the rentals and enjoyed them so much that I bought mine, but all of the towns and cities around me are optimized around walking and cycling pathways. Makes my life easier.
