Always. I have a thick skull, but not thick enough when it comes to pavement. Can’t be too careful. I generally keep my top speed at 20 kph or under as well.

What happens if you have to brake hard and abruptly? How do you brace your body and feet on the scooter so you dont tip forward and go over the handle bars? It seems like totally different dynamics than a bicycle where you have your posture and body weight distributed more evenly (not solely vertical).
You apply the majority of the braking to the rear brake.

I can’t ride my Electric motorcycle until my butt heals. Hurts too much.
Speaking of butts, @shutterbug’s e bike is much too small for my taste. I would likely be nervous riding that fast on something like that myself. Mine is much more like a motorcycle or moped.
Edit: And it still is pretty scary at high speeds.
