Don’t believe the hype
Like as someone who has come out the other side of a keto/ lo carb diet for schizophrenia there’s been some amazing results but I’d add there’s a lot going on and I’m still on meds and take them religiously.
Like the link to things like autism is widely debunked and it’s just typical modern scare stuff but getting off processed foods will help you in the long run anyways so it’s not a bad thing…
As to a cure for sz it’s a long ways off but you can improve sz symptoms with a diet for sure. I’ve been there and done that.
Yea the chemicals in the preservatives are doing you wrong, so you feel better eating chicken without the added crap. I’m like that.
Try buying a fresh chicken and cooking it yourself at home without the added crap. I do that sometimes, depending on what crap preservatives they’ve added to the meat.
I’ve had much better overall health since I mostly de-processed my diet. I stick to a Mediterranean diet that emphasizes fish, chicken, pork and lots of fresh veggies, fruit, and legumes. I do eat carbs, but I try for whole grains as much as possible and avoid “white” starches other than potatoes (in moderation).
I do not think there is a specific link between preservatives and SZ, but they are discovering a likely link between the amount of processed foods eaten when younger and the likelihood of developing Parkinson’s when you’re older (could be what got me). There’s enough evidence to support deeper research, but nothing definitive at this time.
So, yeah, better diet will help for sure and you can’t go wrong, but don’t expect it to cure all that ails you. Like @rogueone said, you’ll still need your meds.I do at least. Consult a doctor before making any big changes in your diet to be sure you’re not about to torpedo yourself by triggering a health condition you weren’t aware of or aggravating one you have and can be made worse.
Try finding a local meat butcher, they don’t use preservatives on cuts of meat, but they do use preservatives on things like sausages and bacon, but even some butcher’s may have no preservatives on fresh sausages and maybe bacon.
You need good quality meat
I just now woke up after having chicken, the preservatives is really impacts me. It put me to deep sleep but not any other family members. It’s only me. because of which I don’t have non veg in the week days. It keeps me going.
