Potential trigger warning ***how do you guys come to term with inevitable death?

And that is ruling out ‘heaven and hell’

?

How do you come to peace with the fact that one day your body will just rot into soil and you and your beloved one’s will never EVER see each other again?

I’m a believer in the after life (I’m not religious though)

I think my thread question also links to what is the meaning of life to you to make it worth living a limited life…

I have no fear of death. If it happened tomorrow then thats just how it goes. Maybe thats why it doesnt bother me.
Basically Im ok with living but also ok with it ending.

Probably my existential issues

Being a type of philosopher and good person I think… Always searching for truth and doing good deeds :heart::heart::heart::heart::heart::heart::heart:

Thanks for all the responses so far, I appreciate it

As to that, I believe life is an experience for good and bad and everything in-between. You have to create your own meaning. Or let someone else tell you what your meaning is like a so called guru or something.

I don’t think about it much except when I see or hear of people my age dropping dead from heart attacks and strokes. I’m not really scared of death, I just don’t think about it.

Lol thanks. It’s actually good advice tho. Will try to remember it

The clock is tickling and i’m trying to ignore it.

I file it under: I’ll deal with that when I get there.

I think it’s something that you just come to terms with once you get a bit older. When you’re younger, you want to live forever, at least I did. When you get a bit older, at least in my case, you kind of get a “whatever” attitude about it to a certain extent.

So, my advice on how to come to terms with it, is to give it time. You may never completely come to terms with it, but it does seem to lessen as you age.

I intend to be cremated. I’m claustrophobic. I don’t like the idea of being buried in a casket for all eternity, even if I don’t know it at the time. … But seriously, I’m 63, and I’m starting to confront my mortality. I sometimes wonder if I have led a good life. I’m awfully self centered, but I still have time.

I believe the body dies: the soul lives on after death.
