Post diagnosis appointment(Asperger's)

It went better than expected. A lot of it focused on how executive functioning difficulties can affect us . Was given various support sheets which my stepdaughter is going to photocopy a few more of them ,and pin them in strategic places. I was given a Wiltshire I.C.E card(In case of emergency) and something to fill in for an Autism passport (useful if you go in hospital) . Was told I needed quite a lot of support , and would struggle to cope without it ,hence should check out advocacy services as a backup in case my stepdaughter gets ill.

My friend in the USA has similar things in place. He has workers come to his home nearly every day. His mom does his laundry. The workers tell him how to clean.

Did you ever try that roast beef recipe? It took forever to type it out… but you said you need specific instructions.

I think he means you’ve got that intelligence that seems to occur in people with Asperger’s Syndrome.

Aspergers come in two groups one is gifted. Like you said of @MrSquirell

In any case the answer is no. I’ve not done any roast beef recipes. Truth be told I’m not a very good cook. As I said to the woman at the appointment today I need a recipe to be as simple as possible. I also do better with someone there to give support.

I post recipes on the basis that we have a good number of people here who are better cooks than me , and might be tempted to try some of them,or adapt them to their taste.

I have very high verbal intelligence and low-very low non-verbal intelligence. Certainly verbally I could fit in the gifted category. @anon82948922 is much more of an all round talent than me though .

This suggests 3% of people with ASD are of above average intelligence ie >115 .
