It’s primarily to hunt mice but I like cats I would be nice to it. And they cost like < 1500 which is a lot but necessary if they are the only hypoallergenic option

I love the idea. But it’s a long term commitment. Cats can become up to 20 years.
I also want a pet one day - either a cat or a dog - but I can’t make the commitment right now.

I live in PA it’s mild and we always keep the house heated I think it will be OK

I want one also. I was going to get one but decided against it. I had bought a cat tree the litter and toys and a travel box but I gave them all to my neighbor after I changed my mind.
My other cat I had started peeing near my home gym instead of the litter box and that was tough to manage so I said never again.

Yeah when I was living with my ex in my 20s her friend visited for a couple of months. It sucked because her cat wasn’t fixed and he would pee above the cabinets in the kitchen. Eww

Buy a good mouse trap
I use a two door trap where the mice alive.
So I can watch them and bring them to a place where the raven and other birds can hunt them easier than in my garden

Not all cats are good at catching mice so be prepared for disappointment. My daughter’s cat catches bugs and would probably catch mice. Mine is, well, dumb, and he runs out of the room if there is a moth because he is scared of it. Pretty sure the furry lad would get pwned by a mouse.

I know a few people who have these cats and are in love with them. I hear they’re very smart and excellent companions.
