[poll] I often wondered

So I once read that (even) when psychotic, it is not that hard to spot delusional ideation in others, while it is ofcourse hard to detect it in yourself.

So I wonder, for those of you who’ve met other delusional people when you were delusional yourself, like in a hospital/ward whether you’d recognize them as delusional?

  • it’s easy to spot
  • it’s hard to tell

i knew i was delusional deep down but i couldnt do much about it bc when that happens and you are deep in psychosis its like you are locked into it, God knows how i got out of it, meds help a lot, thats why i take meds.

For me, a long time I did not suspect delusion at all. But all the time it was very unusual, eerie and mysterious, different. So there was a sense that all had changed on a rather deep level. Not quite captured by getting some facts about the world wrong. Then again, I wasn’t merely delusional, but psychotic.

i totally believed it, but its still all unreal when it happens, i was in a world of my own

I really don’t think that’s the reason people stick with their delusions

if you think that then you are severely warped,

only thing that does me any good is meds

you think its fun to be delusional and everything with it, i dont think so bc i’ve experienced it, i wouldnt be suprised if you are just a writer that likes trolling people

If it’s that simple, than it would be pretty simple for us to let go of our delusions and we wouldn’t need medication.

I can sympathize that meds don’t work for you, but please stop spreading outdated theories about schizophrenia, again it only confuses more sensitive folks.

if you were truly enlightened then you would be using your powers for good, but no, you feed peoples delusions with your grandiose delusions, not good.

Alright, that’s off topic enough. I really don’t want to close this thread.

Sorry @flybottle
