Is the high degree of persuasiveness that lets it stubbornly linger in the mind even when some attempt to reality test can be made.
How do you try and combat this persuasive element?

as to say I would have to be delusional. ? well I think normal’s fall in to the games tv and radio play for advertisement. and politic. but seeing is believing. I think most eye catching things speek to us in are feeling and emotions but are goton tangled.
Yes I agree with @TheGreatestDrZen . Even normies have problems with delusions and reality testing.
The only difference is it doesn’t interfere with their day to day functioning. Or it’s a shared mass delusion/belief.
Try to have good insight into your illness. My insight is one of the first things to go when I get ill.
I wish I knew this too
I must be a normie now, then. Because I don’t have any symptoms that interfere with my day to day functioning.
I agree, knowing when I was relapsing has helped me in the past to put my foot down and say “I am not following this command hallucination.” Education and self understanding is key. “Know thyself” --Socrates or someone lol
Yup Socrates lol
That’s great to hear Gina! I was fine a few days ago too but I stopped taking care of myself over these past 2-3 (dehydrated, too much stress, sleeping poorly) and I’m just starting to hear inanimate objects speak to me again lol. Gotta get some sleep tonight or something and I’m sure I’ll be back. Stay healthy and don’t stop meds even if you’re feeling better! Meds are the reason
Thank you, @anon92887483. Nobody knows more than me that meds are the reason I am so well today. I’ve had too many bad experiences with being off meds.
I hear you, I’m quite the hypocrite not being on meds myself, but I don’t wanna see anyone get sick. Trying to get on track but it’s not really bad enough to where I want to go to the hospital for a month. Really wish there was an in between
I’m sorry @anon92887483 that you are relapsing right now. Try to get some good sleep tonight and see if that will make a difference. It always does with me.
@anon92887483, Your not being on meds is probably the reason why you are not sleeping well. It is best to go back on meds with the help of your pdoc.
True, don’t have a doctor at the moment and I tried a walk in clinic before but they said they couldn’t prescribe antipsychotics and that the hospital could help. Considering the hospital now but hospital now
@anon92887483, You might try your county hospital. They might have a psychiatric clinic that is free to low income people, if that is where you fit. Or they might accept sliding scale payment. I’m not saying you’re poor, but, just in case.
Thanks Gina, I am poor but healthcare is actually free here so I’m able to go to the hospital no problem. I’m just trying to work out how I can afford meds rn, one way or another it’s likely I’ll go on them soon. Thanks again!
You’re welcome dear @anon92887483
