I was never hospitalized.
I was checking the other day, and I have been in nine different hospitals, some of them several times. I’m pretty stable right now. My last hospitalization I od’ed on drugs. It wasn’t a suicide attempt. I just didn’t think those drugs were that strong.
Six times…but if I wasn’t so immature and young and delusional when I diagnosed it would have only been once. I only have myself to blame…well the illness too for blinding me, and the sideaffects of medication, but I always stopped antipsychotics because of the sideeffects and was quickly hospitalized thereafter !

If you count my two bad experiences with klonopin, then eight times ! Six in the psych ward tho.

As I can see in the poll, the majority were hospitalized.
I’ve been hospitalized around 6 times. But since being court ordered medicated I haven’t been in the hospital in four years.

I was court ordered to take meds and I flushed my clozaril down the toilet, fortunately no legal consequences were given, they didn’t check on my situation really. Assume you get injections? I was like John Nash in a beautiful mind, my dad gave me the pill, said good night and I flushed it down the toilet.
Hopefully you learned meds keep you out of the hospital. It was part of my agreement to live at home to take abilify injections, since January 2014, now I’m only on the pill because my doctor agreed I seemed committed to meds.

In the beginning of treatment I spit the meds in sink. I don’t do this anymore, this was in the beginning of the treatment. This action turns me psychotic always in the past.
I did a partial hospitalization program that was 6 hours a day every day. Never did full inpatient though, despite them wanting me to.
I’ve been hospitalized twice. the first time wasn’t so bad but the second was terrible. the second one was when I was overly drugged on Haldol the shot.
Hospitalized twice. I think because the first time they prescribed medication that was too expensive so I didn’t take it.
About ten times in the 80’s. I was in one hospital for 8 months. I was chained down to a table in one of them. Being restrained is not as fun as it sounds.
For 6 months. Never going back there.
Five hospitalizations, stretching over thirty years.
I was hospitalized 3 times before I was stabilized in a state hospital…it was just destiny that I landed in a state hospital. I was lucky. I had no insurance and so the first two hospitals kicked me out while still delusional because of that. I stayed two months in the state hospital before being released with a stable mind.

Yes I was hospitalised six times in four different psychiatric hospitals, all voluntary.
