How many times have you been hospitilized

This is going to be my 6th time. Well at this point ive lost count. What about you?

3 times I think. I’ve only been ill a little over a year so I can look forward to many more.

I have been in hospital quite a few times but none since 1983. The hospitalisations were on a voluntary basis. There was one where I went in voluntarily but if I hadn’t I would have been sectioned.

I don’t know about US and elsewhere but here in the UK it’s much harder to be admitted than it was 20-30 years ago. Then you could be doing badly and you were admitted. Nowadays you not only have to be doing badly but you have to be a danger to yourself or others.
If you are in the chronic category like me,as opposed to acute, the likelihood of hospitalisation is very slim.

I was hospitalized 3 times…finally stablized in a state hospital. the first two hospital wards I was in released me while delusional because I didn’t have insurance.

Lost count. At least 10. Or maybe 15.

Three times I think I’m done with hospitals.

Six times but haven’t been hospitalized since 2011 since I’ve been on the shot

Four times, but I have made it four years so far since the last time. Doing good in that department.

I think I could say I have been hospitalized over twenty times. I think some of them were counted as “voluntary”, but that was because I thought it was futile to buck the system. I’ve fought a commitment in court 3 or 4 times. I never won. My last hospitalization was about 4 or 5 years ago. I od’ed on some Klonopin and Ativan. I wasn’t trying to commit suicide. Those pills were just stronger than I thought.

Only two times for me. The main reason was because I was suicidal and delusional. It’s funny how they’re just like, “Yep, you gotta stay here”. I was braught in by my mom and the other time voluntarily.

six times also…it doesnt seem so bad to go back now…but that’s why i wont go back anytime soon. you only go when you don’t really wanna.

if you count my two overdoses where i stayed in a non-psychiatric hospital…then 8

I think I’ve been in the psych ward four or five times. I’ve been in the regular hospital way more.

About 12 times maybe

Total of five.
Two involuntary.
Three voluntary.

Second involuntary (the psychosis from hell) Was it for me and when I really committed to therapy. The two voluntary’s after the year anniversary of a friends suicide. Last one was to review my meds. Which was a reduction. All hells broken losses when we touch my meds so seemed sensible.

About 10 or 11 times. My longest was 8 months when I was 20 years old. Most of the rest were for a few days or a week or two. I got hospitalized for two days last year. Before that it had been 25 years without being hospitalized.

I don’t worry about being forced into hospital now cos the cutbacks make that pretty impossible.

In the US they generally try to put you in a partial (day) hospital program where you go to a treatment center during school hours. They manage your meds, you see a therapist, have groups, etc. for several weeks until you’re ready to be discharged. That’s for people with chronic issues or who can tell they’re going into a psychotic episode but aren’t there yet. That happened to me last month. To me the day programs are better because you’re free to come and go as you need to, I don’t do well feeling trapped.

Private inpatient programs will admit you if you’re in bad shape even if you aren’t suicidal/homicidal but programs that are public or are attached to a hospital (even a non-profit hospital) are going to generally defer you to an outpatient program unless you have thoughts of harm.

I’ve been in hospital close to 30 times. Yep quite a few… 12 of those admissions have been in a private clinic for long stays including ECT.
