I used to let my daughter do makeup on my face when she was younger. She enjoyed it.

I put male, sometimes, because my niece likes to do my makeup every once in a while and sometimes I wear nail polish.

When I was growing up (starting around 10 years old) my mom was really on my case about needing to wear makeup.

One day when I was 16 or 17 years old I told my mom I’ve accepted my face the way it is.

She said, “Well, you’re not the one who has to look at your face all day”!

I’ve worn makeup ever since

I don’t even know what to say about that. That is terrible. Beyond terrible, I don’t think there’s actually a word for a mother saying that to her daughter.

As to the original post, I am female and never wear makeup.

I am female, and I have hardly worn makeup, since I socially withdrew at fifteen.

Before that, I liked mascara, and chapstick, mostly. I used other makeup, but it looked bad, when I added more, unless it was gold eyeshadow.

I identify as a bi sexual male. Only wore makeup once, when i went in drag, in a gay club in 2000. No desire to do it again. It was quite liberating tho

Ohh…

My mom says it’s crucial to wear makeup for a female.

She says it’s the same as “shaving legs”.

I personally shave legs, but dislike makeup… I do wear it sometimes, but my face says big thanks when I am not wearing it.
In fact if I could I wouldn’t shave my legs. But it’s literally unacceptable in my country. I would be laughed off

So yeah… my mom cares more about my appearance than how I feel. But most people in my country which are her age believes that women should be pretty, very neat and thin.

I’m female, and I wear makeup allmost every day. I feel kind of naked without it
