I’m thinking about claiming but other half frowns on it :disappointed_relieved:

Why frown on it. If you’re eligible then so be it.
Who knows maybe you are

I don’t know you irl, but didn’t your doctor say he wouldn’t do the paperwork for you because he didn’t think you qualified?

I know you’re depressed right now, but going to work and keeping your routine will help you work through your bad times.

If your doctor says u don’t qualify then probably its not going to work, unless ur condition has got more serious then maybe.

Maybe your doctors wont write you a letter - but i would try anyway. Just be prepared to jump thru hoops to get it and wait a few months.

No the Dr did help however none of it helped at the time. I was advised to go part time but the money isn’t enough. I might have to go full tim

Working and driving does have a departmental effect on successfully claiming PIP…

I don’t drive however work part time. Don’t know. It’s not an option it seems.

Can be stressful but worth applying for.

I failed at it thanks to the consultation lady being a dick.

I bundled up all my clinic letters and sent them with a letter from the shrink to get it. And touch wood - havent been to a medical for 20 years. Every year or two - they ask me to come for an assessment - but i just get my social worker to ring them to insist for a home visit. Then they seem to bugger off and leave me alone. I honestly think i just got lucky with it.

I’ve only had one medical in 16 years and on turning up as the centre was told that was a mistake and I shouldn’t of been called.

@bobbilly Good to hear it, its always bloody stressful isnt it when they start messing with your income. I think im safe for now. Im more worried about them putting me on that Universal Credit where your paid monthly with your housing benefit included. I should stop watching the horror stories on the net.

Im hoping the good old DWP have written me off for life.
Im just finding my feet now im well this past couple of years,
and it takes a lot of mental effort to stay well as it is.

They have just made another category for people on ESA called the exempted group. This is for people placed in the support group who aren’t going to get better, such as people diagnosed with chronic SZ/SZA…

Oh i see. I seem to remember i was placed in the support group for ESA, when i just had the diagnosis of BPD back then. Maybe ill stop worrying so much. Cheers.

I worry a lot about losing my benefits…

I think if you have the evidence to back you up you’ll be fine…

I know I have lots of evidence.

Yeah ive got evidence. I keep a file with all mental health correspondance in - including letters from the consultant psych.
Shame they just make it so bloody hard to get in the first place - until your “in the system”.

Do you get regular copies of all the correspondence your consultant/mental health team has with your GP and other people? I don’t.

@firemonkey Yeah sure - every time i have a clinic appointment - they send me a copy of what was discussed in the post , copied to my gp also. If they forget - i ask for a copy. I learnt the hard way years ago to cover my arse incase i have a dispute with them.
