One time as a kid we had to take my dog to the vet and there was an info poster on the wall about heartworm… that one stuck with me for a while x.x

I can barely stand to go barefoot ever because I feel like worms can enter my body through the bottom of my feet. I swear to God they freak me out. I’m totally neurotic about it.

Because we have dogs and live in a community without fences where other people’s dogs poop near our yard, I never let the kids walk barefoot in the grass. Worms can burrow in the ground and live there for a long time, and you can get them that way. I also deworm the dogs once a year with fenbendazole, whether anything shows up on their fecal exams or not.

Those tropical diseases freak me out… You know where there is like worms eating you just below your skin and they have to scrape them out… It makes me anxious to go in tropical waters
