It's very difficult for me to go bare footed

Firstly, I don’t like the way it feels when different textures touch my feet. Secondly, I have a fear that parasites will somehow enter into my body through the bottoms of my feet and attack my body. I am bare footed right now to air out my feet and it’s triggering me. Why can’t I be normal?

I have that same fear about parasites entering my body via my bare feet. I wish I knew something to say to help you; just know you’re definitely not alone.

Could you just die if you had to go on the grass with bare feet? I know there’s parasites there, don’t you?

Took me years to wear sandals.

I’ve read the most common parasite to enter your body that way is hookworm, which usually produces no symptoms (just going by a Google search). Still creepy to think about.

I usually have socks on even when wearing sandals.

I love going barefoot when I’m home in all seasons except winter, but when I’m in public I wear shoes or flip flops

Hubby is that way, too. You aren’t being weird.

I don’t like to go barefoot, I usually wear socks.
Once in a while I’ll wear slippers and no socks to air out my feet.

I used to go barefoot all the time. But now I hate how it feels.

I walk barefoot in the house except in the bathroom (except when showering). I wash my feets many times in a day though. Socks make me feel suffocated. I need to breath lol

I’ve grown accustomed to sandals in the summer. But I prefer socks and shoes. And I need socks on to get a good night’s sleep

Wow I never realized so many people were particular.

I spent 90% of my youth barefooted. No parasites, just an occasional bee sting from accidentally stepping on bees or maybe a little cut from a piece of glass. Your fear is real to you but how many cases do you know personally of parasites entering through someone’s feet?

I feel for you, that’s heartfelt. It would be nice for sure.

I think parasites can get in through your feet. idk. Maybe they can’t. I didn’t think about that. I just get creeped out about it. It’s along the same lines of spiders getting into my coffee cup. That’s never happened but I still always check my cup. Or the locks getting unlocked, that doesn’t happen, but I have to check them. These thoughts get stuck in my head somehow and logic doesn’t seem to enter into the equation. I’m a freak.

After wrecking dozens of socks by walking in the apartment with them I either wear shoes inside or go barefoot. It’s weird because the carpet and the tile floors look so clean but if I wear a pair of socks inside, even just once, they will be permanently stained with dirt. Took me awhile to learn this and. I can’t afford to keep buying 6-packs of socks only to have to throw them away in a few weeks. So it’s shoes on or barefoot.

I don’t mind being barefeeted in my room but I can’t stand the feeling of being footnaked outside. I don’t like the prickly grass feel. I’ve never liked dirty feet. Actually I hate my cousin’s feet because he used to make me tickle them when I stayed over as a kid.

:scream:
