I’ve always cringed when someone on those travel videos dives into tropical waters. I imagine all the possible parasites that person must be getting.

Apparently up to half the world’s population is infected with toxoplasmosis but do not show symptoms. Wiki

I think it may cause mental problems too. I think I got that from a topical article.

Always wash hands before eating and after handling things such as soil and dirty water.

Yep this has def motivated me to be more hygienic. I have cats in our house too.
The thing that concerns me about parasite is you know how they can thrive off ur nutrients the ones that can live in ur intestines.

It all starts in the intestine though.(so your kinda right). Most people are infected by ingestion of what ever.

The only microscopic organism I cheer on is the Tardigrade aka “the water bear”. It can live in space.

Ascariasis looks dreadful. Those worms can get large and block the intestines

Yea, it’s good to know this for sure. I have kiddos that play with others. We’ve only ever had lice and that was a mess too. They weren’t just any lice. They were super lice. Sqweee I had to touch them

One time I had a silverfish the size of my pinkie drop from from the ceiling into my bed. I’m like 90% it wasn’t a hallucination but just to be safe I spent the night on the couch and washed ALL my bedding the next day :joy:

Ooh no! What is this new devilry? Silverfish?!

Looking it up right now.

It’s like a beetle with tentacles. When they’re small I don’t fret. This was a little excessive :joy:
