Pink Floyd

Long-winded, self-indulgent, dated stoner music? Or pure genius.

Thoughts?

With a little drug abuse but all in pure genius! Absolutely love Pink Floyd

Pink Floyd is a phenomena…dark side of the moon I believe is still in the top 100 selling albums…used to be anyways…

Animals might be my favorite release of Pink Floyd’s.

I love it because it was a big “fuuck you” to British high society and out-of-touch politicians— and inspired by George Orwell’s classic short story Animal Farm.

This is probably my favorite track of theirs off that album:

These are also pretty cool:

They split up right?

I remember their movie making sense when I was stoned. I can’t remember what about it made sense now that I’m not stoned.

i always liked them.

but i am thoughtless.

Definitely masterful instrumentals, but the vocals are tiresome.

Not a big fan of theirs but I do like some of their music.

Very talented

The Wall influenced me.

and the songs brain damage.

I only really liked three of their albums: Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You were Here and Animals. I can still enjoy listening to them today. I never liked The Wall despite all the hype.

I went through my teen years as a huge Pink Floyd fan. It’s good music but it’s very much Waters writing from after Dark Side and he’s pretty much a certain cup of tea. Like don’t get me wrong it’s still quality but it’s disenfranchised white man who really is making huge amounts of money…I guess I discovered punk rock and moved on but I recently went back and bought The Wall again on vinyl. It’s still a great work of art…just comes from a certain perspective from my point of view.

I still love Pink Floyd’s music but I don’t listen to them as much as I did in my younger years. My best friend got me into their music and he died really young so it’s kind of hard for me to listen to them now.

In a weird way it’s like opening up a time capsule from certain stages of my life.

I don’t take sides though in the whole Gilmour vs. Waters beef. I think they’re both extremely talented musicians in their own right.

They’d have been a far more creative band if Syd Barrett had been able to deal with his mental health problems, and remain a member of the band.

It’s good chill out music. I Like most of their albums. I replace drugs with a cup of tea when I listen :coffee:

Pure genius, love pink floyd

I love Pink Floyd, especially David Gilmour’s guitar solos are the best and fun to play. A lot of emotion baked into those solos.

Loved the old Floyd for years. Ive got all the concerts i bought on Prime.

I actually prefer Waters over Gilmour. But that arguments been going for years.
