I already had that job: Chef.

I only miss it on days that end in Y.

I don’t need a test to know I’d be the happiest being a cartoonist and/or an illustrator

Actually, not going to the art school I got into in the Netherlands to study painting and illustration is probably one of my biggest regrets

Art school seems to be half training and half about making connections. I mean, either your artist’s portfolio is good or it isn’t. If you have the skill, it will be visible there. It’s the lack of connections that hurt, or did hurt. The Internet is a great way to level the playing field and get noticed.

I think my old job of electrician was fulfilling but I probably no longer have the brains nor the motivation to do it full time anymore. Lots of codes and things to keep track off.

That’s what kept me from going for being an illustrator. I wanted to go to school for illustrating in my home country too, just to build connections and learn the ways of the oozing and schmoozing.
I had a friend who became an illustrator. She’s very talented, but she said lots of her success came from branding and building connections.

My home country requires a diploma to enter those schools, and it’s one I can’t get

That doesn’t matter so much these days. I’m sure you’re familiar with Matthew Innman of The Oatmeal. Good work will get shared, followed, and eventually rewarded. Just keep making art and improving your skills.

Hands-on: 16
Your ideal work is mainly about engaging with the physical world, for example building, cooking, craft, DIY, working with animals, plants and machines, sports and hands-on therapy. Example jobs include: sports coach, physiotherapist, engineer, LGV driver, builder, mechanic, veterinary nurse.

Yeah, this fits. I would love to work with animals. And I currently have hobbies involving crafts.

When I get some money saved up, I’ll get a computer and a wacom board (drawing tablet).

I know I could do amazing things with one of those, I did it with the one I had many moons ago.
