Have you ever noticed people that aimlessly walk around towns for seemingly no reason at all? I got asked if I do this by my pdoc once. I think it may be something to do with mental illness. The only reason I could think of is that it would be a disassociation with people that they unconsciously go out just to be around someone.
my uncle Paul does this
he has a learning disability
but I don’t think he has mental illness
my family had to get on him about screaming at passing cars
he never got a driver’s license
When we were young we cruely gave someone a nickname Crazy Julie, she would walk around standing on benches with her arms out. There is people that do this in my town now it is just new faces.
I do a lot of “hanging out “
I go to town have a coffee wonder round aimlessly to get out of my flat
I live in the country now but I have aimlessly walked around places before. I don’t know how crazy I did or did not look. I like to people watch, though.
There’s this guy in a town next to the one I used to live in who spends every day racing around the town on his bicycle. I used to go to a cafe there and you’d see him go by every 10 minutes or so. Every day, always in the same direction, pedaling like he’s in a rush to get somewhere. I liked watching him.
We had a homeless guy who lived in the woods behind my house. He was really nice. He had a dog. His wife and daughter were both killed in a car accident, and he decided he would rather sell the house and live in the woods after that. It was how he coped. He was always nice to us neighborhood kids (not in a creepy way) and we would bring him presents sometimes.
Wow. This is a sweet but sad thread.
Growing up there was a lady that would bike everywhere. Back and forth.
When I was younger, I enjoyed getting together with a friend, or a few friends, and we’d just walk around the downtown area. I enjoyed it
I used to do this go on bus rides around town so I’m not in my room all day.
I did the same thing when I was younger.
Walk around my neighborhood and town with my friends.
I now barely go out.
Me either @Wave
When ill I would wander downtown Boston aimlessly at night in confusion or running away from perceived danger. I think it was risky
