Pdoc trying to Guinea pig me?

I told pdoc that I stopped my meds a few weeks ago. He didn’t seem keen to put me back on them. I’ve moved cities and he is a new pdoc. Last place I lived said I had sz for sure but he wants to get to know me. He said this could be a disaster. Do you think he’s trying to test whether I have another episode?

Why did you stop your meds if you are a confirmed schizophrenic?

I don’t think you should wait for your doctor to tell you to go back on meds.
You seem to know better.
Get back on meds before it’s too late.

TBH, it sounds more like you’re trying to make a guinea pig out of yourself. What made you decide to stop your meds? Was this with the approval of your previous pdoc?

I stopped them because of the terrible side effects. Pdoc didnt say about putting me on another ap.

I deny having sz and I guess apart of me thinks that I’ll give it one more shot without meds and see what happens.

You’ll crash in about thirty days.

@princess You should listen to @PatrickT. He’s telling you this from personal experience.

Yeah if it’s schizophrenia you’ll come unstuck. Still seems like a bit of paranoia on your part. Most normal folk don’t think certain ways. These ways a good psydoc will understand. What if your new doc thinks you need the meds? Isn’t that the point?

I think there has been a lot of confusion about diagnoses and maybe they want to see what happens. To be honest I feel poisoned by the meds but haven’t told them. I’m really afraid that the police are trying to get them to kill me. I’m not in a very good space at the moment :frowning:

Tell them everything. It helps you out. Believe me, a psychiatrist has seen it all before so there’s no surprises. What you are saying is perfectly natural. Others and myself are simply pointing out the fact that in most cases, medications lead to better outcomes. If you don’t need them that is great. If you do…then it’s not bad to take them. Schizophrenia untreated is a real mess!

Don’t you think this is the kind of paranoia a schizophrenic would think?

I agree with the others here-If you have been diagnosed with SZ, you need to be on medication. Be patient and get your psychiatrist to try different drugs. Side effects can be devastating, but it IS possible to find a drug that is not harmful to you. You can dispel paranoia by discussing it with the psychiatrist. You need to learn to trust him or her.
