First in 6 months. Am meeting my new nurse as well.
Good luck! Hope it goes well. Do you have a list of things you want to talk about?
Will make one now on my phone!
I always find lists helpful. Especially with my pdoc because the appointments always feel rushed.
Okay.
Tell us what it goes…!!!
Will do buddy!!
So was a mixed appointment. I don’t think he was happy with me refusing the depot. He said if I got Ill again he would go to a tribunal and get me a community treatment order. I can see his point in a way. They are responsible for me at the end of the day.
What I thought were annoying thoughts regarding being followed by benefits people he says are in fact delusions. I said they weren’t and that they were in fact true. This further convinced him they were delusions.
This came as a shock to me because I sincerely totally believe I am under surveillance. He said that was part of the definition of delusion. I honestly thought I was simply malingering.
In the end we agreed that since I am compliant with oral seroquel (600mg) we should aim for monotherapy on APs. But I got the impression if I ■■■■ with the seroquel I will land myself a community treatment order and shots to the butt it will be.
Overall it was a fair consultation. We both laid our cards on the table and I got an appreciation of where on the treatment spectrum I lay (ie close to mandatory meds).
It sounds like he doesn’t pull any punches, that’s good. You know where you stand. But you’re good about taking meds anyway, aren’t you?
Yeah am pretty good. But have a tendency to sometimes think I don’t need them. The doctor made it clear I don’t have more experience than him and he would not hesitate to get me on mandatory meds if I screw around.
Like you say is good that he pulls no punches. I know where I stand.
I’m really glad he’s so clear with you about the benefits people. This idea has been screwing with you so badly for so long. I’m glad that someone in a position to know is able to clear it up.
I hope monotherapy can work for you. And I’m glad you have a doctor who takes your wellbeing very seriously.
