Paxil doesn't do anything! Wtf!

I’ve been taking 20mg of paxil daily for a long time. I’m taking it for panic attacks but it doesn’t work. I’ve read online that a lot of people benefit from the drug and have their panic resolved.

Also I’ve been somewhat depressed lately which is weird, paxil is also prescribed for depression. It should help with motivation and such but right now I could be eating candy instead.

I don’t want to quit the drug. I should talk to my doc but am getting tired of trying. SSRI’s don’t seem to work on me. I read online that I might need a combination of drugs to treat my panic- attacks but I’m scared of experimenting.

Can anyone relate?? What did work for you??

I’ve had to try a lot of different combos to find the right one for me. Definitely talk about this with your doc and maybe they can do an addition to Paxil for a little while and see if that helps. I know sometimes we can become desensitized.

I’ve been on a few anti-depressants, but the one that works for me is Venlafaxine. I do also take Ziprasidone, which has mood stabilising properties, as well as being an antipsychotic. In the past i have taken Lithium as well. Have a chat to your doctor. There are other drugs, and other combinations still left to try.

The drug combo is inevitable. If it’s not working for you, gotta go through it

Think of it as a lottery and the win is whatever you expect the drug to do

I was on Paxil for a year and had an insatiable appetite and it never helped my depression. I was just dumb back then unaware of things so I stayed on it. I had a panic attack last week and it was my first in many years. It’s never been a symptom I had except for a good amount of anxiety. This was full blown. I should tell my pdoc about it when we talk next week.
