That, and high levels of choline, and recommended levels of iron, folic acid, B-12, vitamin A (beta carotene), vitamin D.

No guarantees, but gives the best chances.

And avoiding infections, stress, and unapproved meds, drugs or alcohol, gestational diabetes or high blood pressure, low thyroid… there’s a lot that can go wrong

There’s the issue of passing on MI. There’s also the issue of not being able to care for them. I see my nieces for a few hours every week and I’m exhausted by the time they go.

this is really interesting because I couldn’t eat anything when I was pregnant with my daughter and she has mi which required treatment starting in 3rd grade. But I ate fish very frequently, like almost daily when I was pregnant with my son and so far no signs of mi, but he is only 16, so I’m watching him like a hawk for sz.

I eat salmon 3 to 4 times a week, and I put anchovies in salads, on pizza, in pasta, etc.

If you don’t mind sharing, what kind of mental illness does your daughter have?

I fear for my 13 year old

she was diagnosed as ADHD originally, then they changed it to bipolar. Then they changed it to BPD. Then another clinician suspected sza. She’s 18 now and not going for counseling or meds, so I guess we will find out when and if she decompensates.

Sorry to hear that. I hope she finds the insight to get treatment in the future.
