I followed this on the news as it was my nearest city. It’s incredible rare for this to happen here. Also the Judge acknowledged this person had treatment resistant SZ so he’s very unlikely to get out of a high security hospital, and hospital is worse then Prison here.

Someone was murdered by a schizophrenic in the psych hospital that I stayed at.

It’s scary that there was no one around to stop the murder of the psych nurse.

Practically nobody wants to use public transit now.

The incidents of this thread happened in my home city. They are blaming the police for failing to arrest him earlier when he resisted treatment. But the whole thing is indicative of under resourced mental health services, police who have enough to do without being surrogate mental health service, and of course the evil acts of the guy himself. I understand a little too clearly how this sorry state of affairs has happened.

I remember that wasn’t it in vancouver? They didnt even send him to prison, they just put him for a year in mental hospital for sz then released into public. It difficult he may or not do crimes again i wonder if they should have put him in prison for life

Then another guy in Canada MD killed 5 people in less than 30 seconds stabbing each once in the heart at a house party thinking they were vampires.
