Our female cockatiel is starting to sing

From the research I’ve done since we got her about a month ago it’s unusual for females to sing. But hey ho she is. I’m proud of her.

She is absaloutly lovely. Like a dog infant. Very intelligent. Always wants cuddles.

Never thought I’d like a bird so much.

Hmmm… Well congrats to you.

Our cockatiel is exaclty the opposite of that. Sure he looks kind of pretty. He doesnt sing. He just chirps and squawks incessantly to deliberately try to drive us all insane. Hisses and tries to bite you if you try to get too close, certainly no cuddles. and intelligence is questionable.

Maybe we just got a bad apple.

Oh, and to add to his attractive resume, I believe he also killed the female cockatiel that was with .

I believe my mom inherited those particular cockatiels from someone, but she has had another ages ago and it had similar temperment.

Edit: On a totally unrelated note, does anyone want to buy a slightly used bird? PM me for details of this great deal.

I’m a cat person but I’m intrigued by birds. They can be so clever and that interests me an an evolutionary biology type person…I so need some pets in my life. My cats are departed and it’s a hard sell with my dad now he’s 80.

Oh well. Glad your enjoying your pet!
