our bathroom is trashed because of the two cats living in it. they are my mother in law’s brother’s cats. they aren’t allowed next door and they aren’t allowed out of the bathroom because one throws up everywhere and the other sprays. my mother in law suggested keeping them locked up in cages and letting them out only for a few minutes a couple of times a day. I can’t do that to a cat bad enough they are locked up in our bathroom. luckily the bathroom is the coolest room in the apartment.
my father in law wanted to take the cats and just dump them somewhere out in the country. but my mother in law said no that would cause a lot of trouble for us all if we did that.
It’s time to give the cats to an animal shelter. One that doesn’t kill them that is. Google is your friend.

the bad part about doing that, is the girl I am suppose to mentor her cat is the only thing that calms her down after a fit or tantrum
Cats like to roam, keeping them penned in like that can’t be nice for the cats!

i know I feel terrible but they don’t get along with the resident cat that is my partner’s and her little sister’s . well let me correct the males gets long its the female that doesn’t get along very well with trooper.
A bathroom is no place to keep cats penned up, that’s very much a torture to the cats. Also I don’t see the point of having a cats if that how they’re kept. They should be outside or on someone’s lap or window sill. Rather than a shelter try to get the cats adopted. Poor kitties

Do the cats try to escape everytime you go in the bathroom? Is this a temporary living situation? If it’s any more than a couple of weeks it’s unfair to both the cats and to you and your partner.
Maybe you should tell your in laws that you and your partner will need to move if the situation doesn’t get resolved soon. I’m guessing they’re counting on your rent money so this may get your in laws to work something out sooner rather than later.
it is suppose to be temporary but the mother in law’s brother’s family is blowing their money instead of saving it for a place to live. that’s why the inlaws aren’t charging them rent so they can save.
