More animals great

my partner’s uncle and his girlfriend with their 5 kids are suppose to come down here to stay for awhile. they are bringing their dog and two cats. i was just informed that their two cats will be staying in our apartment with our little foster animal zoo. i call them foster animals because they aren’t mine but i pay for everything for them. After losing azuma to an illness and parasites i have become very defensive of my two remaining reptiles. if one of their cats harm my lizards i will be very pissed off. trooper (my partner’s little sister’s cat) knows better now but even if he was the gentlest cat on earth no cat can be completely trust worthy

is there a way you can place your pets in a safe spot or room ? cats are crazy

two out of the three animals i am worried about are safe. the bird is high up on the highest part of the apartment. the gecko is locked tight with a screen on top of his cage. the one i am mainly worried about is my bearded dragon. he is in a 55 gallon bowfront and the screen on his tank is from a 40 gallon long so it doesn’t cover the tank completely. we had problems with trooper trying to get into the tank to sleep under the basking lights.

@anon48059102 the cat, dog and bird aren’t mine. but the lizards are ours.

@Ninjastar, it would happen a lot sooner if my in laws would teach my partner how to drive more. they have only taken her our 3 times in the past two months. kay wants to move too, especially since her dad always gets shitty with me over stupid stuff. and they keep threatening to make me get rid of ed even though my partner paid for him.

Good luck saving your reptiles

thanks, getting trooper to not attack my bearded dragon took a lot of work but I still don’t trust him completely. cats can’t fight their natural instincts

Yeah keeping thouse animals together is not safe

Put some protection on your dragons terrarium. Like some wires that your cat cannot enter

I just may do that, my mother in law said just don’t turn on the heat lamps and that cats won’t be attracted to the warmth of the lights but I can’t do that to my bearded dragon he needs his heat lamps and uvb lamp

The cat wont go to the lamps if there would be danger to it. They are not that stupid. I think cats requere less care then reptiles

I dont know i never had cats

There are organizations that can help women in abusive situations learn the skills they need to live independently. You might be able to find a driving instructor that way. There is also a bartering site called simbi.com. You might be able to trade driving lessons for animal care or something else. Your in laws aren’t going to help Kay learn to drive because they don’t want to lose your incomes. You need to look elsewhere.

@anon48059102 I prefer lizards, kaisei gets fed in the morning and the evening greens every day and super worms twice a week. my crested gecko gets fed once a day usually at night since he is a night dwelling creature. their food gets dusted with calcium or multivitamin dust several times a week. it is hard to find a vet in Indiana that deals with reptiles. the closest one is in Indianapolis. a less experienced exotic animal vet is 30 minutes away but he misdiagnosed my crested azuma and he died.

Sorry for your azuma. Yes to find good vet that treats reptiles is hard. Thats fantastic that you feed your reptiles vorious times. I think its very interesting to watch how they eat. I always wanted a turtle but bought a cockatiel. It now stands always on my shoulder. I called it lilu. But the reptiles are great and that you prefer them over cats  i mean i have nothing bad about cats, but reptiles are cool

Since you’re paying rent, you have the right to refuse.
