Does anyone know an effective way I can treat Akathisia through fasting, dietary changes and the use of “Holistic” remedies?
Better talk to ur pdoc…
Hi @2323Jefferson i also have akathisia, i am just curious, what meds do you take, what AP?
There is some evidence that taking vitamin B6 can help, but if the akathisia is severe you may need an additional medicine to counteract it, such as procyclidine. I was prescribed this for severe akathisia, and it worked well for me. It’s a horrible feeling, so please ask your doctor about a med to help if it distressing you, I wouldn’t wish that horrible restlessness on anyone, it’s agonising.
I am currently taking no medications for my akathisia. I am looking into going to a local hospital to find someone who could administer me special medications to treat my condition.
I just got back from my local hospital and I was prescribed a medication called “Banophen” to treat my akathisia. I have only taken three doses of this medication within eighteen hours so it is not quite as effective against my ailment as I had hoped it would be but it does provide fairly satisfying relief from my ailment.
I wanted to know if anyone else has been suffering from akathisia and has been prescribed with this medication or have been given some other kind of treatment for it considering just how terrible and agonizing this akathisia is.
I’m glad you’ve got something to help with the akathisia, hopefully the effect will increase over a little time, but it’s good to hear you have some relief at least.
