I have obsessed about the strange knocks, bumps, pops and whines I hear in my flat. I thought they heralded something bad was happening.
Thing is my flat is in an old building (like really old). I am willing myself to think of the strange noises just as usual sounds old houses make.
It is hard to force myself to think like this but hey - I gotta at least try
The more you repeat it the more you’ll believe it.
My house is new and it makes lots of noise. Not sure why. I know the house is just settling but it’s weird in an 8 year old house
Try hard to not screw up your thinking by putting too much meaning into the bumps and squeaks. It will make you crazy otherwise.
It’s hard to turn that crazy “connect-the-dots” mentality off when there’s a lot of brain inflammation though.
Our heater is extremely loud…it sounds like somebody is throwing stuff against the wall. I think it needs to get fixed, things like that used to trip me out. I’m glad it’s not doing that anymore.
