okay this is getting scary. I keep hearing little knocking sounds all over the apartment. Noone else is awake and I;ve repeatedly checked all the doors and it doesn’t sound like a window. I think I’m gonna have to wake my husband because I’m getting a little freaked out. I’m getting that doom feeling. You know what I mean?
do you have neighbors? I’ve confused people running up/down stairs for strange knocks and bangs.

yes I do have neighbors, you’re probably on to something. This is a new place for me too. So you know how all houses have their own set of noises, that’s probably what’s going on. I’m breathing through it.

For me when I get ill I hear knocking sounds, I must look like a idiot running around the house trying to find who is knocking on my windows ( no one is)
that’s how I feel! I should wake my husband - he’ll be mad if I don’t get him when I’m freaking out

It could be something simple like air in your pipes. We’ve been having that problem recently.

oh yeah, well thank you but its lower down then our pipes - it’s like window level - maybe its the rain
New house new bumps are pretty typical. Once you get used to the sounds of the place you’ll feel better

I sometimes hear knocking sounds during the day.
I don’t think that they are Hallucinations, but I don’t know what is causing it.
At night I sometimes hear door knocking, but these definitely are Hypnagogic/ Hypnopompic in nature.
what is hypnagogic, sleep involved?
My worst episode of hearing voices I went back to my dorm room and kept hearing knocks on my door, opened it, no one there.

sorry to hear that. I often think someone is outside trying to get my attention to get in, sometimes knocking sometimes moving the blinds (through a closed window) I thinks it’s paranoia.

Like the time I was trying to wake up and a nascar racetrack was going around my bed, it seemed so real. I was tripping!

I also hear the doorbell go off at night.
It’s strange, but I am pretty sure that I’m fully awake when it’s happening.
When I was hallucinating in the past, I would hear door knocking and doorbell sounds all of the time.

I’d get that too at my old house. Typically it was more like a tapping sound on the windows. The weird thing was, nothing was outside that could have been doing it. Occasionally I would hear a distinctive knocking sound like someone knocking on the wall. Other people heard it too, so I was not hallucinating.
However keep in mind that if you have an old house, they will creak. Also I have found air conditioners can sometimes create those knocking sounds. Ice makers too.
