Is anyone on olanzapine? Whats your experience?
My experience on 20 mg made me too hungry and tired, worse than other medications, but it is an effective drug and now I take 10 mg of it which is 100% better. There is now a drug called Lybalvi which has both zyprexa and an appetite suppressant. I had to get a blood test to get on it though I don’t know what she was looking for.
Olanzapine made me fat and lazy! It’s a good med for psychosis. But if you start eating like there is no tomorrow. Then you need to start restricting you calories.
I only eat three meals a day and I’m still fat. My plan is to recover some more and quit this drug, start intermittent fasting and working out. Hopefully I’ll lose some weight.
Been on it for around 10 years. Low dose.
Its been okay for me.
When, if you stop it you can get insomnia as withdrawal symptom.
Same for me. 10 years!
Okay. It was the First ap i got prescribed.
30mg a day.
It helps cut down on my positives , but doesn’t take them completely away.
I’m happy with it, I just have to watch my weight. No tiredness, no TD, no real side effects to speak of.
I’m lucky I tolerate it so well.
I am also on 30 mg a day. It is a good medication. It works pretty well and I don’t have issues with it like I’ve had with other meds.
Ol zyprexa and it’s mountains. I was ok twenty years ago until I slept all day. I hope it works out for you. Hugs.
Zyprexa was a godsend meds for my mother who is 77 years old because that it takes away most of her psychosis and she’s finally sleeping well. She only has two side effects on Olansapine 35 mgs and that is some weight gain and constipation. But she eats healthy and takes laxatives. You know no drug is perfect. They all comes with their own kinds of side effects.
I’m sorry I was wrong. I haven’t taken olanzapine in years. I hope it helps
