I now take three Metformin a day for my high insulin Levels. Hoping it will help bring it back down and also my weight back down which goes up and down constantly I think that’s due to my Insulin Levels and my Abilify is the cause of it as well. According to my Doctor whom I seen the other day to go over Labs and get medication refills. He said Abilify could be driving my Insulin up, and there is nothing he can do about that but have me take three metformin a day two in the morning and one at bedtime hopefully it will help with me in losing some weight and getting my insulin down as well fingers crossed it helps and works.

I’m in the exact same position as you.
I take Abilify and almost as soon as I started taking it, my blood sugar went way up.
I have to take 500mg 3 times a day now as well.
On the bright side, Metformin does a great job of keeping things normal, blood sugar wise.

I take 1000 mg of metformin twice a day. It really helps the blood sugars along with the Mounjaro. Sometimes, tho, i still have to take insulin, but not as often as i used to.

my Blood sugar was 89 the last time I had it checked but it’s my Insulin that is high and luckily it hasn’t brought my sugars up I thought it would but so far so good I take 500 mg three times a day two in the morning one in the evening think I already said that in above post but anyhow I am also hoping with three metformin I can get my insulin back down and maintain it and also lose weight as well my Doctor seems to think that metformin helps with losing weight well see I have lost before with it in the beginning of going on it.
