The reenablement worker who came in today was chatty and friendly , but there were a couple of things that seemed a bit iffy to me. That could be an age related reaction on my part though. Firstly telling me my t shirt makes me look sexy. Secondly as he was about to leave rubbing my back.
A couple more things like that and he should be history.
Why are you afraid of
It wasnât about being afraid.
That does seem a little strange. Maybe theyâre just trying to put you at ease?
Heâs gay. (Actually just said that to be funny)
Told my s/dau who works as the local branch manager of a home care agency about it. She said it was inappropriateâŚ
She phoned to be told that heâs just a really friendly guy and people misinterpret these things. Thatâs when my s/dau said she mentioned âsafeguardingâ and asked to talk to the manager when he/she is next in.
She said also said to me itâs inappropriate re the vulnerability of clients.
Itâs totally inappropriate and unacceptable. Iâd ask for a different caregiver
The way things are thereâs no continuity re who sees you.
I wouldnât tolerate that, him rubbing my back after telling me I looked sexy. Definitely inappropriate behavior.
Definitely inappropriate. He shouldnât be working in care.
So she wanted to make you feel good?
She must be some kind of kreep
Or your imagining it and she was jusr nice
He made me feel uncomfortable. What about those he sees that are even more vulnerable than I am?
I agree that he acted totally inappropriately towards you. If he turns up another time, maybe turn him away, and let the agency know in advance that you intend to do this. You shouldnât have to work with someone who touched you inappropriately and called you sexy.
That is super inappropriate and SHOULD lead to him being fired. Unfortunately, many agencies have a âprotect our ownâ mentality and try to sweep that behavior under the rug. You were right to call your stepdaughter and she was right to report it. You are within your rights to refuse to allow him back in your home.
He sounds creepy to me @firemonkey. Be careful.
