I work in an assisted living place and I’ve been having a resident make some remarks towards me. The original one was just him saying that he wished he could take me out to church (as a date.) Obviously I said no and that it’s not really appropriate. The next was along the same lines. He said “I wish I was 40 years younger so that I could ask you out.” Then he mentioned how he should have filtered that and I told him yes that he should of. Then yesterday we are in the elevator and he goes “Want to go down to the dungeon?” (The building has a basement) Which on paper isnt bad but the way he said it. At this point I wanted to report it but I felt the third comment wouldnt have enough to say that he was in the wrong. Then today we are in the elevator again and he looks at me and asks “Do you want to go to the dungeon for some hanky panky?” Today I reported that comment and charted it so that there’s documentation of it happening. For some reason it just really got to me today and now I just feel gross.

So the manager of the building (and my manager) called him to talk to him about it. Essentially to tell him that it’s very wrong and he needs to stop and he just played dumb and said that he didnt know what she was talking about.
Ugh. That’s one sinister customer. Don’t worry he’ll get other complaints filed against him.
As bad as it may sound I really hope so. He just makes me uncomfortable and hopefully if enough complaints go through either he’ll have to leave or he’ll realize oh wait this needs to stop.
We used to deal with reside touching us, making inappropriate comments, and just being creepy. Always report it. Some aides won’t because they know the resident will lie, but make sure you do.

I cant say I’m suprised. You’re around a bunch of old people are a few of them are dirt old men. If it makes you uncomfortable then just report it like you did.

Yea some old ppl become creepy, probably brain tissue loss. I got harrassed by old ladies when I volunteered in a hospital. An old lady asked me to go with her to her house, I was like wtf. I just ignored her and helped another elderly.
