Okay so this is a pretty crap situation ngl. I’m waiting for refills and whatnot hoping to start a new med. Problem is this med I have a strong love/hate relationship with. Abilify. I want this to be my new forever med but idk. Cant afford to keep switching at this point.
I love it because it’s got most tolerable side affects. I can still enjoy working out on it cause it gives me energy and promotes exercise in my opinion.
I dislike it because it really revs me up. Gives me anxiety and causes dangerously high libido.
But I have tried most the meds out there at this point, though some for just a day or few days. I’ll give a med history.
Olanzapine - was on this for years, never going back on it again
Quetiepine - dislike as its similair to olanzapine
Paliperidone/invega - tried few days, felt kinda super low on it
Risperidone - tried this for 3 weeks, liked it actually but wasn’t on antidepressant at the time and smoking hella weed and ended up in er. Psychosis coulda been from a few dif things so not sure.
Latuda - tried only one day and switched back to olanzapine.
Haldol - Screw that med and all typicals, seriously.
So yeah, feel like i am running out of options, just want to find right med and stay on it already. Sick of this medless game I have been playing.
I’m on vraylar, it has helped against anxiety and depression. Initially it gave me anxiety but it went away.
I didn’t take my meds for two days now because I keep falling asleep on the couch and I’m really low and depressed.
Only side- effect I have with vraylar is heartburn. I have to take it in the morning or I keep waking up in the middle of the night barfing up stomach acid.
Vraylar is similar to abilify! That’s why I’m mentioning it.
I’m on both olanzapine and vraylar, the lowest dose of vraylar.
I hate olanzapine but don’t have any options. They wanted me on clozapine but I refused it because of the blood tests. So I’m on maximum dose of olanzapine.
If you like abilify but it didn’t quite hit the number then seconding either try Vraylar or Rexulti. They are both supposed to work as dopamine modulators
