Not seeing things that are there?

Is it possible for a schizophrenic to not see something that’s actually there? I don’t have any symptoms like that, just wondering.

I was driving I looked and saw nothing coming, I pulled out and a car was coming. I didn’t see it when I looked.

That sounds like just a mistake, that has happened to me too but I don’t think it was schizophrenia.

I’m talking as if there’s a person standing right in front of you and you can’t see them.

No can’t say that’s happened.

I think that’s called inattention

I’m talking focusing on what’s around you and still not seeing them.

I do get that, but I’ve never thought about it being linked to my sza before.

My husband will tease me when I trip on something or walk into a wall or door - you still have a body and can’t pass through things… :flushed:

This is off topic but your post got me thinking.
I have good things in my life, but can’t always see them.
