I was wondering is it possible to have scizophrenia with delusions only and very mild hallucinations. I’m talking hallucinations that could almost be considered mild visual disturbances. No voices or anything just constant thoughts of people being able to read my mind or following me and poisoning me. What should my next step on a road to recovery be?
Yes. I don’t do voices. I hallucinate a bit but it’s usually something visual or music. I’ve been psychotic and all that entails. I do have a central thought that comments on everything I do…or I used to as the meds help to no end.
Chances are your still in the right place. Medication is proven over nothing and untreated psychosis or even depression is most likely brain damage. Trust your doc. Take the pills if prescribed then see how you are in a year or so.
My voices are not so prominent but I have beliefs others don’t seem to share and they are constant. I have sza so have mood element as well.
I’ve never had hallucinations. I have had multiple psychotic breaks though, just delusional.
I’ve never had a hallucination. I just have bizarre delusions. I was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2014.
How are you doing at the moment?
Yes…im in the same boat as you kind of(my sz is delusional heavy). Identifying your symptoms is good and kinda grounding. Learn how to cope with each specific “delusion” youre struggling with and go from there. Are you on psych meds
Yeah, there’s plenty of delusional schizophrenics who have never hallucinated. There’s also a small few who aren’t delusional but still hallucinate (I’m in this group).
Delusions seem to be the more common symptom, to the point where I don’t even like to tell people I’m schizophrenic because they’ll assume that means I have delusions. It’s easier just to tell them I hallucinate from time to time and not mention the illness by name.
