I’ve been having a struggle in recent days because I’m going to have to get another car soon. Until tonight, when I discovered that I’m really not good at making decisions and have made some very poor ones in the past. This is why I’ve been so anxious. So, I’m going to rely on as much help from others as I can find for the process.
Get a volvo nothing to regret there. :).
When my parents were looking at cars they’d go on a day the dealer-ship was closed and just walk around looking at the cars, if they found one they liked they would copy down the VIN number and go online and look up the car’s history. In America I know these numbers are usually on the drivers side up close by the front window (above the wheel closer to the window) Characters within a VIN indicate a vehicle’s year, make, model, where it was manufactured, and more.
I highly recommend visiting Carfax.com: http://www.carfax.com/. It’s a very handy site, it will tell you if the car you are looking at has ever been in an accident, how many miles it has on it and so on and so forth.
A Volvo is one of the safest cars for sure. My parents had two of them; they are pretty reliable. When I bought my car in 2002, the dealership gave me a Carfax report. It gives the whole history of the car. The stuff sohare listed and any major repairs, it lists ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that is wrong with it. Of course it might not have ANYTHING wrong with it if your lucky. I think everybody knows that you should not buy a brand new car. With a new car, you might pay $8000. to $10,000 but as soon as you drive it off the lot it’s value depreciates by two or three thousand dollars. So buy a car that’s a couple years old. This is one of the biggest purchases you will ever make so make sure you take your time and really shop around. Here in California we have “auto malls” , basically streets or areas with anywhere from 8 to 15 different car dealerships that are adjacent to each other. So you can do your car shopping at one stop.
I LOVE my Honda CR-V. Its 2015 model was named car of the year or something by some magazine. Sorry I can’t remember!
i had a boyfriend he was a car mechanic he said renalt clios were good cars i bought one a manual and i lost my liscience to be honest but my sister is still driving it around renault clios or renalt generally he said are good cars and not rust buckets.
My husband bought a baby Benz. 1984 190 D Mercedes Benz, had 300k miles when he bought it. No major repairs. He has since put another 100k miles on it and our mechanic (took it in for the A/C) says he sees no reason why it won’t go another 300k. These cars are notoriously reliable. We paid 1,400 dollars. Guy threw in a bottle of fly spray for my horse.
I am a Buick girl. They ride like a dream. You can find one with little miles for cheap because old people like them and they sit in the garage. I’ve not had a problem with either my old Le Sabre or current Century. Its a luxury car at an affordable price.
