I am a Ford guy but Toyotas are virtually maintenance free and the best bang for your buck.
Somewhere around a 2000 Toyota Corolla. They are cheap, the gas mileage and insurance on them are cheap. If anything happens, it’s not a big loss. They are cheap and easy to fix. Out of all the cars out there, this is your best car for you money.
When anything goes wrong, just look it up on youtube or a chat forum. Find out there, and order the part from Amazon if you need it new, or get it from the Junk Yard if you need it used. Most of the time you can buy several used parts before paying the full price for a new part.
a honda ruckus.
If you buy it from a dealer it should came with a Carfax. If you buy a car from a private party or some fly-by-night used car dealer you should take the car to a trustworthy, reputable mechanic before you buy it to have it thoroughly inspected. Cars can have hidden damage that a layperson would not see but an experienced mechanic would know what to look for and be able to spot.
Also by the way, get a car that gets good mileage for obvious reasons. A car is one of the biggest investments you’ll ever make so take your time and do some research before rushing in to buying anything. You want a car that is known for not only being dependable and mechanically sound but has a good safety record if you ever got in an accident.
OR, just say , “the hell with it”, and just go to the dealership and pick out the shiniest, flashiest, fastest car on the lot with the cherry red paint job and black leather interior and a $2500 stereo and pay cash for it and drive it right off the lot that second.
+1 on CARFAX. Ran one on a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix that seemed to be too cheap for the mileage and features. Turns out it was written off in flooding in the U.S. and brought to Canada to be curbed by a dishonest dealer. Would have bought the kid a lemon without it.
We call it “title washing” here. No pun intended. We get those titles and cars resold here too.(America)
Did you see the title itself? Here “pink titles” are write offs and not insurable. I am uncertain, but I dont think they can be legally passing a safety insepction either.
The blue titles are good.
If it was blue with that report then it was to be an illegal sale.(deceptive)
Those craigslist rascals.
Oh Pontiac got zombied along with Saturn and oldsmobile.
Please don’t remind me - it’s traumatic.
Very sorry. Lots of classic car lovers out there. (Me too)
Try to find an old Honda or Toyota under 150 000 km.
The Miata is too small too the point of spooky.
Doughnuts in parking lots at 3am: check
Only in the movies style drifting: check
Fast take off: check
Survival rate after bad accident: questionable
Think I will have to stick to the more practical auto s.
