So, my mom and I watched a movie and we picked up my brother. We came home and obviously, the dogs are barking non-stop because they are so so excited to see us.
I’m used to the dogs barking so I gently hugged the dogs. However, my brother suddenly lashed out at our rescued dog, a Jack Russell, and tried to kick him. I was like “what are you doing?” and my mom said to him, “it’s not good to hurt animals!”
My brother then came to the living room and threw his wallet on the sofa, and he said “I’m sick of this dog barking at me so loudly! It hurts my ears!” My mom yelled at him and said that it was not good to hurt animals (once again) and that his behaviour was not appropriate.
I told him that a best way to stop a dog from barking is to extend his hand and say “no”. He said, “Well, you could’ve hugged the dog instead!” and he slammed the door.
Cocoa is a rescue so he has traumas. He was shaking so violently and I had to separate him from the situation. I hugged Cocoa and told him it was alright. He shook for some time but he was alright.
And needless to say that I’m scared. I hate these situations.
